Add and arrange photos
Tap +, then Photos, to open your device's photo picker. Choose up to 30 photos in one import. Adding from the collection library creates a new collection; adding inside a collection appends to it. Hold a photo and drag to change its position. Holding near the top or bottom scrolls the grid.
Change a crop or remove a photo
Tap a photo, then Reposition. Drag or pinch inside the fixed 3:4 frame and tap Save, or Cancel to leave it unchanged. The saved crop applies to the preview and export. Tap a photo and choose Delete to remove its app copy. A longer stationary hold starts multiple selection so you can delete several together. Originals in your photo library remain unchanged.
Create a Print composition
Tap +, then Print. Select images and choose Side by side, Three across, Stacked or Framed, or use Custom. Drag to move images and pinch to resize them. Add to collection creates separate 1080 × 1440 tiles from the shared composition. Print makes digital images, not a physical print order.
Rename, color or delete a collection
Open a collection and tap its name to rename it. Tap the small collection blob to choose a color. In the collection library, hold a collection to reveal its Delete control. Deletion removes Merpy's local copies, not your library originals or exported images.
Export and publish
Open a collection and tap Export beside the photo count. iOS saves to the Merpy album and the main Photos library. Android saves to Pictures/Merpy and the main gallery. Every tile is a separate 3:4 JPEG at 1080 × 1440.
To recreate the planned order on Instagram, publish the last grid tile first and work back to the first. Export capture dates put the last tile first in newest-first pickers. Merpy does not post automatically. Instagram may display or crop images differently as its product changes.
Export permissions or storage errors
On iOS, allow Full Photos Access in Settings for Merpy. The app needs it to create or reuse the album; limited access cannot complete an export. On Android 8 and 9, allow storage access when prompted. On newer Android versions, export uses the system media library without that legacy permission.
If saving fails, free some device storage and try again. An unsuccessful save preserves the previous collection. Import failures may require selecting your photos again. Do not delete app data to troubleshoot unless you have exported anything you want to keep.
Offline use and switching devices
Editing and arranging work on your device without a Merpy account or connection to our servers. A system picker may need internet access to download a selected cloud photo. Collections do not automatically sync between iOS and Android. Device backup and restore depend on your operating system and settings.
Purchases and refunds
Merpy is a one-time paid download. There are currently no subscriptions or in-app purchases. Purchase or redownload through the store account used to buy the app. The stores handle payment and refunds. See Apple refund help or Google Play refund help. You can also contact us about an app problem.
Privacy and deletion
You do not need a Merpy account. Your photo collections stay in local app storage. See the privacy policy for the website, support, backups and export details, or follow the data deletion instructions.
