Who is responsible
Yumink, based in Lithuania, publishes Merpy and is responsible for personal information processed for this website and support. Contact merpy@yum.ink about privacy or your rights.
Photos and collections in the app
You choose photos through the system photo picker. Merpy processes those images on your device to create previews, crops, Print compositions and exports. It stores image copies, collection names, colors, ordering and crop settings in its private app storage. Merpy does not upload this content to Yumink or run a photo storage server.
The current app has no accounts, advertisements, advertising identifiers, tracking, analytics SDKs or developer-operated crash reporting. It does not request your location, contacts, microphone or camera. We do not sell your personal information or use your photos to train AI.
Photo permissions and exported files
Import uses the system picker to access the photos you select. On iOS, exporting requests Full Photos Access because Merpy creates or reuses the Merpy album. Limited or denied access does not save the export. On Android 8 and 9, exporting requests permission to write to shared storage. Later Android versions save through the system media library.
Export saves separate 1080 × 1440 JPEGs to the Merpy album on iOS or Pictures/Merpy on Android. They also appear in your main photo library. Files include ordering filenames and export capture dates. Your original library images are unchanged. You can revoke permissions in device settings.
Device backups and services you choose
App data may be included in operating-system backups depending on your device settings. Exported photos may sync through iCloud Photos, Google Photos or another photo service you enable. System photo pickers may retrieve selected cloud photos through your device provider. These services operate under their own policies; Yumink does not receive your photos through them. Merpy provides no account-based cloud sync.
Posting exported images to Instagram or another service is your choice and is governed by that service's policies. Merpy does not connect to your Instagram account or publish for you.
Store purchases and diagnostics
Apple and Google process app purchases, payment details, receipts and store accounts under their own terms and privacy policies. Merpy does not request or store payment card information. Store operators may provide publishers with sales reports and platform-generated diagnostics under their reporting systems and your settings. Those systems are separate from in-app tracking.
Website visits and cookies
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Delivering and securing the site involves processing network information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, request time and security events. Cloudflare may process that information in countries outside your country under its data protection terms and applicable transfer safeguards. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its processing and retention practices.
We do not add analytics, advertising pixels, cookies, a contact form, or browser storage to this site. The sample grid runs in browser memory and resets when you reload. Visiting the site does not give us access to your photo library. Links to stores and other websites lead to services with their own policies.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to answer your request, resolve problems and maintain necessary correspondence. Our email provider processes messages to deliver this service. Please avoid sending private photos, passwords or full payment details.
We keep correspondence only as long as needed for the request, necessary follow-up, and any applicable legal obligations or dispute. You can ask us to delete it at merpy@yum.ink. Records that must be retained by law or for legal claims are kept only for the required purpose and period.
Purposes and legal grounds
We process support correspondence as needed to respond to a contractual support request or, for general enquiries, for our legitimate interest in answering you. Site delivery and security rely on our legitimate interest in maintaining a functioning, secure website. Where records must be retained to comply with law, that processing relies on the relevant legal obligation. Photos and collection records remain under your control on your device.
Retention and deletion
Local collections remain until you delete them or remove the app's data. Deleting a photo or collection removes its reference and associated app copies after a successful save; file cleanup may be retried on a later save. Deleting all app data through Android settings or deleting the app on iOS removes the current local app container. Offloading an iOS app can retain its data.
Library originals, exported photos, backups and copies posted elsewhere are separate. Remove those through the relevant photo library, backup or service settings. Backups can restore older app data. We cannot access or remotely erase your device. See data deletion instructions.
Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold, restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact merpy@yum.ink. We may need proportionate information to verify your request. Under the GDPR we normally respond within one month; permitted extensions will be explained.
You may complain to your local supervisory authority, including Lithuania's State Data Protection Inspectorate. We cannot supply photos or collections stored only on your device because we do not hold them.
Children and security
Merpy is a general-purpose photo tool and is not directed specifically at children. We do not knowingly request children's personal information through the app. If a child sends us personal information through support, contact us to request its removal. Device permissions and private app storage help protect local content. Website delivery uses HTTPS. No device, email or hosting service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its effective date when relevant practices change. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel. New features that change data handling require an updated policy.
