Delete your data

Effective 12 October 2026

Merpy has no user accounts or developer-hosted photo storage. You control the collections on your device. These steps explain which copies each action removes.

Delete individual photos or collections

Open a collection, tap a photo and choose Delete. For several photos, hold one still to enter multiple selection, select the photos, then choose Delete. To remove a collection, select it in the library and use its Delete control.

After a successful save, Merpy removes the entries and their app copies. File cleanup may be retried on a later save. This does not remove library originals, exported JPEGs or photos posted elsewhere.

Remove all local app data

On iOS or iPadOS, use Delete App in device settings or the app removal menu. Choose deletion rather than Offload App, which can keep documents and data. On Android, open Settings, Apps, Merpy, then the storage settings and use Clear storage or Clear data. Setting names vary by device. Uninstalling also removes the current private app data.

Export anything you need before removing local data. Yumink cannot recover local collections from its servers because it does not hold them.

Delete exports and backups separately

In Photos or Gallery, delete the exported JPEGs themselves. Removing an album alone may leave its images in the main library. Empty Recently Deleted or Trash if you want to remove those copies sooner. Your photo service may have its own retention period.

Manage iCloud, Google or other device backups through the provider's settings. Backups may contain older app data and restore it later. Deleting local app data does not delete a backup, an exported photo, or a copy on a social platform.

Revoke permissions

In your device settings, change Merpy's photo or storage permissions. Revoking access prevents future access covered by that permission; it does not remove copies you already imported or exported.
